For two decades, SOFHA has been part of the development of PostScript. In 1984 SOFHA started to develop PostScript compatible SofhaSCRIPT products: technologies, printing emulations, network communication protocols, document workflow solutions and graphical user interfaces.

In 1993 SOFHA delivered the Printing on Demand (POD) Server. More flexibility, individuality and design possibilities were requested and the principle of page description was substituted by the document description, what Adobe's PDF is also based on.

In 1999 SOFHA opened their first office for the Americas at the U.S. west coast. An office in Japan for Asia and the Pacific Rim followed in 2000.
